WHO IS CAM BROWN?

WHO IS CAM BROWN?

Is this thing on? *tap* *tap*…

As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a voice-over artist – Cam Brown 2018

Well in fact, I scored my first gig at 12 years old, when the high school musical required an inspirational introduction to its opening number — a message of world peace delivered in the unmistakeable voice of Archbishop Desmond Tutu. So random, right? But a challenge this keen parrot was willing to give a punt… and it landed!

Growing up in equal parts Thatcher’s England and Hawkey’s Australia, I was exposed to a rich variety of cultures, and the golden-era of TV and Radio. These influences provided endless inspiration to a youngster with a natural flair for the dramatic and a penchant for impersonations.

From these promising beginnings I continued into my twenties, developing my voice, expanding the range, and becoming more at one with the microphone. I even had a stint as a rave MC, and hosted a radio show on the infamous Bondi FM for a number of years.

However, it was during my time at university narrating student film projects, and my subsequent career producing trailers for BBC Studios, that my passion and true potential as a voice actor was fully realised. Over ten years of scripting, directing, and working alongside the finest voice actors in the business gave me invaluable insight, and a deeper understanding, of what it truly takes to be an impactful voice-over artist, and more importantly, what it takes to deliver the perfect read time after time.

In 2021 my professional experience and client-base has expanded internationally to include:

  • Telstra
  • Omnicom Media Group
  • BBC Earth Australia (Channel voice)
  • BBC Earth Asia
  • BBC Brit
  • WarnerMedia Asia
  • Cartoon Network
  • LEGO
  • Foxtel Media

Well that’s enough about me, don’t just take my word for it, take my voice for it!

Cheers,
Cam Brown
